The Southeastern Centre (Medicine Hat) usually meets on the third Wednesday of every month from September to June. However, meetings have been on-hold recently due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
Invited speakers discuss a variety of archaeological news and events pertaining to the archaeology in Alberta and abroad. In keeping with this tradition, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Lindsay Amundsen-Meyer will be discussing the historic John Ware Ranch. This will be via Zoom on Wednesday, December 16 at 8:00 pm. All are welcome, but must pre-register by calling Bruce Shepard at 403-527-5440 or by e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org .
John Ware was the best known of black American cowboys that emigrated to southern Alberta. We hope this program will be of interest to historians as well as the broader black community.
People are welcome to join at 7:00 pm to view our business meeting, to find out what else our club is doing.
