Speaker: Taiga Heritage Consulting Ltd.
Since 2017 Taiga Heritage Consulting Ltd. has been engaged in an ongoing educational archaeology project in northwestern Alberta (Grande Prairie and High Level regions). This project has provided us with a unique opportunity not only teach about archaeology and the past of the region, but to also learn from students from elementary and high schools, teachers, parents, representatives from the forestry industry, and community members. Our archaeological research focuses on a small-scale site with few artifacts and large-scale sites with low artifact density in areas of the Boreal Forest. We hope our presentation will offer insight into the shared experiences of the people involved in the project.
