Talking Archaeology: Organizing Archaeology Worker Unions

This talk will confront the nature of organizing archaeology unions and divulge some ongoing successes in organizing archaeology worker unions. The speaker currently organizes archaeology workers across the country as a member of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) with the collaboration of the United Archaeology Field Techs United (UAFT) of the Teamsters. Although I do not have formal expertise in labor law, I won prevailing wage backpay for my crew and myself during a National Forest Project in Monongahela National Forest, WV. Come and learn how union organizing is impacting the lives of archaeologists and global heritage as a whole.
