Talking Archaeology: Exploring Public Archaeology

7:00 PM
Strathcona Branch of the Edmonton Public Library

Speaker: Taydem LaRoque

Taydem recently participated in "Archeologies 2025: Origins and Indigeneities" in Cortona, Italy and will be sharing her presentation with us!
Student at the University of Alberta and Secretary of ASAEC, Taydem defines a transitional approach to archaeological research that embraces accessibility, collaboration and community-driven engagement. Public archaeology challenges traditional divides academic researchers and the general public. Locally grounded, participatory approaches can deepen public understanding, stewardship and shared ownership of archaeological heritage.
